Letter to the Editor from Rhonda Schutz - Nursing Home Tax Issue

July 02, 2019

Dear Editor:

Loch Haven Senior Living Community is a precious resource to the community. In their many years of providing not-for-profit services, it is probable they have touched the lives of much of the populace in Macon and surrounding areas, be it caring for a friend or loved one or providing opportunity for employment.

Our family feels very fortunate that our mother is a resident there. She is happy and healthier than she has been in a long time. From our first inquiry to present day, our questions or concerns have always been met with a high level of knowledge and professionalism. Loch Haven offers multiple levels of care, with compassion, patience, and understanding so often not found in these settings. Our mother continuously raves about the food and she fees “spoiled”. Who doesn’t want that for their loved ones?

Approving the proposed first tax levy for building maintenance in 50 years in August will allow Loch Haven to continue the tremendous service they provide the community. It is our fervent hope the citizens of Macon County will vote to provide the assistance and support so urgently needed.

Sincerely,

Rhonda Schutz
