Janice R. Lee

Janice R. Lee, age 79 of Marceline, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at University Hospital in Columbia. Janice was born at Kingsley, Iowa on November 25, 1936 to Vernon “Jim” and Inez Mae (Grubb) Preston. She married Wesley Lee on December 27, 1985 and he preceded her in death in 2009.

Janice had worked as a bookkeeper in healthcare and at New Cambria Sale Barn. She was a member of the Marceline United Methodist Church, ORPHA Circle of the church, NARVE, and the Tiger Booster Club.

She is survived by three sons, Jerry and Paula Gooch, Jim and Gloria Gooch, and John and Tammy Gooch, all of Marceline, two daughters, Joy and Tom Edgar, Marceline and Jeanna and David Tharp, Milan, stepson Ron and Chris Lee, Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister Dixie Still, Hastings, Nebraska; grandchildren, Gabe and Becky Edgar, Josh and Marcia Edgar, Preston and Ashley Edgar, Kellie and Jared Tarpening, Courtney Lucas, Kylee Gooch, Jimmy and Rachael Gooch, Chasity and Adam Barnett, Katie and Ben Jordan, Lance and Jill Gooch, Gabby Powell, Kristen Tharp, Javin Tharp, Evan Tharp, Michael Lee, Rachel and Jason Johnson, great grandchildren, Andrew, Maycee, Kennedy, Hillary, Ridge, Lynnon, Harper, and Maddie Edgar, Austin, Emmitt, and Owen Tarpening, Trevor, Carson and Zaylen Ganaway, Ryder, Scout and Gamble Gooch, Mason, Kalli and Marshal Barnett, Gracey and Bentley Jordan, Drevin Roper, Keely Lee, Cole Johnson and Abigail Johnson, brother-in-law Bob and Annabel Gooch, two uncles, Joe and Dale Grubb, nephews, Ted Stauffer, Randy Gooch and Tim Gooch, and nieces, Kim Woolery, Dana Still & Jameson, Kristin Reed, Kathy Paris, Gari Dick, Susan Simpson, and Desiree Stauffer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wes, and brother-in-law Juan Still.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 24, 2016 at Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline.
