Erma Rulon, age 81, of Brookfield, died Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

A funeral service will be Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Mike White officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening.

Erma Marie, daughter of Orville and Edna (Thompson) Ripley, was born November 6, 1934. On October 18, 1957, she married Roscoe Rulon who preceded her in death January 9, 2004.

Erma had worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City for several years before moving to Brookfield. She had worked at the Brown Shoe Company and Sears in Brookfield. Erma also worked as a Teacher’s Aid for the Brookfield RIII Elementary School for many years and as a clerk at the YMCA in Brookfield.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Brookfield. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Lady Elks Organization.

Survivors include one son, Rodney Rulon and friend, Kelly Michael of Olathe, Kansas; three grandchildren, Matt Rulon, Heather Rulon, and Chelsey Rhoades all of Brookfield, three great-grandchildren, Payden Rulon, Amre White, and Chezney Renshaw; one brother, Dorman Ripley and wife, Pat of Brookfield; a sister-in-law, Margie Ripley of Waynesville; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Two sisters, Helen Bryan and Doris Lewis; and three brothers, Joe Ripley, Harold Ripley, and Donald Ripley also preceded her in death.
