William Thomas “Tom” Huntsman

William Thomas “Tom” Huntsman, 57, of Jacksonville, MO, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. He was born July 5, 1959 to the late Roy Sebern and Joella Mae (Jacoby) Huntsman.

Tom worked as a mechanic for Swift Transportation and had been a farmer and cattleman all of his life. He married Brenda Mathis on May 31, 1979 in Jacksonville, MO and she survives of the home. Also surviving are his children; Wesley Huntsman and his wife Stephanie of Cairo, Andy Huntsman and his wife Amanda of Jacksonville and Calvin Huntsman and his wife Kate of Moberly, five grandsons; Skyler, Brendan, Logan, Chase and Reed, his brother, Herb Huntsman and his wife Sherri of Downing, MO, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curtis and Marlene Mathis of Cairo, other relatives and friends.

Tom was a member of the Jacksonville Christian Church. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. Tom was always willing to help anyone in need and that legacy will forever live on through his children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Cemetery.

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at the public visitation which will be Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cater Funeral Home. Services honoring and celebrating Tom’s life will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery, Cairo, MO.
