Dean Lewis Williams Obituary

April 15, 2024

Dean Lewis Williams, 61, of Macon, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO surrounded by family.

Dean was born on May 28, 1962 in Benicia, CA, the son of Lewis Ray and Frances (Carbullido) Williams. He was united in marriage to Stephanie Rucker on December 23, 1985 in Macon. Dean enjoyed fishing, hunting woodworking, cookouts, and spending time with his family; especially his children and grandchildren. Fast cars, motorcycles, and hard rock music were just a few of the other things that always excited Dean. For many years, Dean followed in the footsteps of his father and worked at the local coal mine until it closed. Afterwards, he was a bricklayer until retirement.

Dean had a kind personality and infectious smile that drew people towards him. He knew no strangers, often going out of his way to meet new people and spark conversations. Dean often gave, more than he had to give. He was protective of those lucky enough to be in his circle and fiercely loyal to those who mattered to him the most. He loved and he was loved.

Dean is survived by his wife, Stephanie Williams of the home; his parents, Lewis and Frances Williams of Macon, MO; four children, Damien DeLozier of Smithville, MO, Nick Williams of Moberly, MO, Morgan Williams of Moberly, MO, and Miranda Williams of Columbia, MO; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his three brothers, James Williams and his wife Kathryn of Columbia, MO, Robert Williams and his wife Tiffany of Columbia, MO, and Troy Williams and his wife Sara of Lenexa, KS; nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
