Pat Hatcher Obituary
Patsy Jo Hatcher, age 87, of Shelbina, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Salt River Community Care in Shelbina, MO.
Pat was born on August 29, 1936 in Monroe County, MO, the daughter of Melvin and Lillie Mae (Olbert) Garrison. She was united in marriage to Roy Eugene “Gene” Hatcher on September 8, 1957 at Shelbina Christian Church. They were married for 66 years. He survives.
Pat was a member of Shelbina Christian Church and a regular attendee of the Crusaders Sunday School class. She worked for a short time at the local phone company in St. Louis while Gene was attending pharmacy school before becoming a mother and homemaker. She liked to joke that she also worked at the pharmacy to make sure and keep Gene in line. Her life revolved around her church work and her children. Pat enjoyed calling on people with Betty Crist, cooking for church meals and members, and was a fantastic greeting card sender. She enjoyed cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Mizzou football and basketball. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished time that she got to spend with them. She especially loved their annual Hatcher reunion, held at the Lake of the Ozarks, where she would bake dozens of cookies to share.
Pat is survived by her husband, Gene; daughter, Karen (Paul) Bowen of Callao, MO, their daughter, Crystal Myers of Sparks, NV, and her children, Savannah and Sara, their son, Andy (Oakley) Bowen of St. Joseph, MO, and his children, Easton and Logan; son, Curt (Ann) Hatcher of Columbia, MO, their son, Chad (Courtney) Hatcher of Raymore, MO, and his children, Addison, Reagan, and Kennedy, their son, Brett (Kerra) Hatcher and children, Emaline, Lainey, and Wilson, and their son, Corey (Meghan) Hatcher of Austin, TX; son, Greg (Barb) Hatcher of Troy, MO, their daughter, Monica (Mark) Roettger of Troy, MO, and her children, Maxine and Maggie; son, Tyler (Shelby) Hatcher of Olathe, KS and his children, Frankie and Murphy; daughter, Nicole Hatcher (Tre) and son, Jay; and daughter, Molly Hatcher of Troy, MO; one sister-in-law, Ina Hoover of Monroe City, MO; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Heathman and her husband, Logan and Margaret Magruder and her husband, James Henry; and sister-in-law, Nina Davis and her husband, Jerry.
