Betty Ann Hauf, age 79 of Macon, MO departed this life Sunday night, July 10, 2016 at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon under the care of Hospice Compassus.

Betty was born on December 6, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa a daughter of the late Earl Clarence and Julia Merle (Harper) Hauf. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jerry and an infant brother. Betty was never married.

Betty is survived by a sister, Mary Hauf of Macon; a brother, Melvin Hauf of Sioux City, Iowa; special friends, Alvina Howe of Elmer and Lois Noland of Macon and her Loch Haven family and friends.

Most of her life was spent in the Des Moines, Iowa area and had resided in Elmer and Macon since 1975. For 20 years, she worked at the Sheltered Workshop in Macon where she assembled respirator masks and also attended classes at the Literacy Center. Betty enjoyed being a member of the Special Olympics team for several years and dearly loved attending church services at Loch Haven.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15 at Elliott Funeral Home in Atlanta with Bro. Jim Bolin officiating. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bunce Cemetery, west of Elmer.
