Here’s what is happening at the Macon County Health Department the week of May 2nd -

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic – Thursday, May 5th. We have Pfizer, Moderna and J&J available for initial, second, and booster doses available. Appointments are required, call 660-395-4711 or request an appointment online at www.maconmohealth.org/appointment

WIC Services – By appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays, WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, infants and children up to their 5th birthday.

Immunization Clinic – Wednesday May 4th. We have required and recommended childhood vaccinations for infants, children, and teens to make sure they are up to date for school and to keep them healthy from preventable illness.

Clinical Services – We offer clinical services such as blood draws (with doctor’s orders), injections (with doctor’s orders), cholesterol screenings, blood pressure checks, TB tests, childhood and adult immunizations. Call ahead or walk in for services.

Coming up at the Health Department –

May 5, 12 & 19 from 3:30-4:30 pm – Prenatal classes. This 3-part series will cover stages of delivery, infant care, breastfeeding, safe sleep, car seat safety and immunizations.

May 24th at 9 am – CPR/AED certification course for Healthcare providers (BLS course). Will be $40 per person, open to the public. Call ahead for registration.

Coming to a town near you –

3. Northwest Macon County Health & Wellness Clinic – Thursday, May 12th from 8:30-10:30 am at the Elmer Community Center. We will be offering free cholesterol and blood sugar screenings, COVID-19 vaccines, vital sign checks and flu vaccines. We will also bring pneumonia and shingles vaccines for those who call ahead.
