Graves and Cleaver Recognize America’s Teachers During National Teacher Appreciation Week

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II (MO-05) recognized the hard work and dedication of America’s teachers today with the introduction of a resolution honoring their service during National Teacher Appreciation Week.

“Being a teacher is never easy and this year has been more difficult than most,” said Rep. Graves. “Our teachers constantly go above and beyond to prepare our children for the future. They put in endless hours and some of their own paychecks to help shape today’s children into tomorrow’s leaders. We really can’t thank them enough for all they do. I’m proud to be joined by my friend and colleague, Congressman Cleaver, in introducing this resolution honoring the efforts of America’s teachers.”

“Teachers play an integral role in every single community across this nation—and over the last year, that has been demonstrated more clearly than ever,” said Congressman Cleaver. “I don’t know an individual who can’t point to a teacher who made an indelible impact on their life, yet they rarely get the recognition they rightfully deserve. During Teacher Appreciation Week, we have an opportunity to show our gratitude to the teachers who have helped shape us into the people we are today. I’m proud to join Congressman Graves in introducing this resolution to show my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible work teachers do every day to serve the children who will one day lead this country. Thank you for all that you do!”

Congressman Graves and Congressman Cleaver announced the introduction of their resolution honoring America’s teachers during National Teacher Appreciation Week at Chouteau Elementary in Kansas City, Missouri. The school is located in the North Kansas City School District, represented by both Graves and Cleaver.
