UPDATED New COVID-19 Cases ON COUNTY LINE

****Macon County Health Department retracts yesterday’s announcement of 3 new COVID-19 cases. During the course of contact investigation, it was discovered that these individuals live on the county line and actually reside in an adjoining county. Those cases have since been turned over to that county’s health department for follow up. That brings Macon County’s total count back to 39 cases since COVID-19 first entered the county.

Following is a summary of cases since COVID-19 first entered Macon County:

28 current active cases

2 active positive hospitalized

7 presumptive positive (untested, symptomatic with close contact to a positive)

12 released from isolation

Macon County Health Department is working with the Department of Health and Senior Services to host the National Guard for free COVID-19 testing to be held at the Macon City Park (fairgrounds) on July 20 from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This event is open to all Missouri residents.
