MACON, MO -- Raspberry's BBQ along with A-Z Appliance provided and delivered over 580 free meals to essential workers in Macon County on Thursday April 16th. Nursing homes, law enforcement, and health care workers, were among some of the essential workers that received a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and a brownie.

We reached out to Heidi Hunter Edwards, owner of Raspberry's BBQ in Macon, about the restaurant's recent efforts in providing food to workers in the local area during the Global Pandemic. Ms. Edwards stated, "We love helping our community - that’s why we are here. Because we have a lot of “essential” people still working who need to eat. We have truck drivers and railroaders and construction workers on top of our regular customers who need us. That’s why we are here. We donate to the Senior Center and the Food Pantry and give away meals every day because people are out there making sure our community and country are still going. That’s why we are here - to serve them and let them know we appreciate them."
