BREAKING: Macon Health Officials confirm second COVID-19 case in Macon County

MACON, MO -- On Monday afternoon (March 30th) Macon County Health Officials confirmed a second case of COVID-19. The case is a result of community spread (spread from one person to another).

Official Press Release:

The Macon County Health Department has confirmed the second positive case of COVID-19 in Macon County. By law, we cannot and will not release more information about this person to protect their privacy.

This case is community spread, meaning it was transferred person to person and is not travel related.

The person has been in self quarantine since first exposure to help prevent further transmission to others. They are in communication with local health officials and are cooperating to remain in isolation.

All of those who have been in direct contact with this individual have been contacted by the Macon County Health Department."
