86th Bevier Homecoming kicks off!

Robert Berti of Bevier was awarded the honor of the most homecomings attended. He began attending Bevier Homecoming with his mother when he was just two years old and never stopped. That adds up to a whopping 77 homecoming parades. That's a lot of candy Robert!
With a theme of "Our Family Roots Run Deep," it seemed fitting for the winners of the look-alike contests to be enveloped in the same family roots. Mother-Daughter look-alike winners were Janet Prokup and Dominica Eitel. Father-Son look-alike winners were Dominica's husband Michael and son Braxton. One big happy look-alike family.
Dan and Carla McVicker of Bevier were honored as the longest-married couple. On September 26th this year, they will celebrate 65 years together. A great accomplishment. A great reward.
Walter Gladbach of LaPlata was honored as the oldest living veteran in attendance. He turned 96 this past March. Walter served in the United States Marine Corp. Thank you, Walter.
The 86th Annual Bevier Homecoming got started under a beautiful sky Wednesday evening.
A night filled with entertainment was interrupted only briefly for the announcement of local winners.
