Duane "Buddy" Lawrence Seibold (Aug 30, 1928 - Jan 19, 2019)

Duane “Buddy” Lawrence Seibold, age 90 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.

He was born August 30, 1928 in Anamoose, North Dakota, the son of Harold and Anna (Isaak) Seibold. On December 21, 1946 in Stockton, California, he was united in marriage to Donna Lynn Shumaker who survives.

Also surviving are one son-in-law, Dan Bechtle; one granddaughter, Marisa Bechtle; one great grandson, Lee Ashley Bechtle all of Hamilton, New Jersey; and several cousins.

His parents, daughter, Melody Bechtle, and two brothers, Alvin and Kenneth Seibold preceded him in death.

Buddy worked most of his life as an electrician. Some of his more notable employments were with Minneapolis-Honeywell and later working as an electronics tech on the Aleutian Islands. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), NEMO Amateur Radio Club, and was an Extra Class Amateur license holder.

Buddy was a dedicated husband and father. He enjoyed carpentry; building several of the homes he and Donna lived in. They had homesteaded in Alaska, surviving the earthquake on March 27, 1964.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Darren Potter. Burial will be in Chariton Grove Cemetery west of La Plata.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services starting at 10:00 a.m.
