Dan was born on May 22, 1951, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Frank E. and Margaret (Oxley) Ramel. He was united in marriage to Donna Brady, who blessed him with three children, Kathleen, Ryan, and Kelly. Dan lived in Kansas City, MO and worked as an independent furniture sales representative.

Dan later moved to Macon, MO where he met Wendy Garner. They fell madly in love and were married. Dan lovingly accepted her four children, Desiree, T. J., Angelica, and Jasmine, as they were his own.

Dan had a profound love of nature and was an avid outdoorsman. He instilled this love in the young men that were closest to him. Dan was very hard working and took pride in what he built; he took pride in the accomplishments of those who learned from him.

Dan was very generous, kind, patient, selfless, witty and charming. He endeavored to make his home harmonious and welcoming. He had a knack for making others feel comfortable by including everyone. He never knew a stranger. He was often teased being called “hostess with the mostest”. He showed love by spending time with and helping those he cared for. Dan woke up everyday thinking of ways to make his wife happy. Dan had a great sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and was known to coax a laugh from a stranger by surprising the car next to him with a “Papa Smurf” puppet. Dan had a contagious smile that lit up a room.

Dan spent his days on the farm hunting, fishing, gardening, planting food plots, clearing roads and raising buildings. Dan loved spending time with friends, many of nearly 50 years. He cherished each one of them through service, lending a hand wherever he could.

Dan made countless memories with his loved ones. He was a very affectionate and loving father and husband. Dan truly lived life to the fullest enjoying every waking moment and living life on his terms. He was a treasure to those who knew him, and his passing has left a hole in the hearts of so many.
