Danny Mac Gaines March 22, 1947 - December 22, 2018

Danny Mac Gaines, age 71, of Shelbyville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Danny was born on March 22, 1947. He was the son of Samuel Ellis and Mabel Catherine (Feely) Gaines.

He is survived by his one daughter, Ashley Arnett and husband Trey of Shelbyville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Ronnie and Mac Arnett; two brothers, Roger Gaines and Jewellann of Shelbyville, Missouri, and Charles Gaines and wife Marcia of Shelbina, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Julius Larrick of Shelbina, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Shirley Larrick.

Danny graduated from North Shelby High School. He farmed his whole life and raised cattle. He liked fishing, playing pool, going out to eat while visiting friends, and attending auctions. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He always found time to attend Ashley’s and his grandchildren’s events. Danny will always be remembered for his friendly smile and for never knowing a stranger.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 1 pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri. A visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Shelby Memorial Cemetery, following the service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
