Helen Louise Thompson, age 94, of La Plata, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at La Plata Nursing Home, La Plata, Missouri

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Rhodes Funeral Home, with Reverend Mandy Wiedeman officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Memorials have been suggested to the La Plata Nursing Home or the Michael J. Helen was born on November 2, 1924 in Laclede, Missouri, to Pete and Blanche (Riddle) Thompson. Helen was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Brookfield, Missouri. She was employed for many years at Dearing's Bakery in Brookfield. Later she was employed at Whitaker Cable until she retired. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and most of all spending time with family.

Helen is survived by one brother, Jack Thompson of Grandview, Idaho; three sisters, Jane Hill, Brookfield, MO; Carolyn Price, Raytown MO; and Grace Horton, Lufkin, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Alice Thompson and Mae Thompson, both of Bucklin, as well as several nieces and nephews. Extended family includes Gary, Marilyn, and Kevin Cokerham, La Plata, Mo; Melvin and Scharlyne Gordon, Hannibal, MO; John and Gayle Siecinski, Marceline, MO.; Kristin and Michael Richardson, Isabella and Lydia of Washington, MO; and Ryan, Michelle and Gary Daniel Cokerham, Columbia, MO, who called her “Grandmother”. .

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers, and four sisters.
