Patricia "Pat" Ewell (Masten) Bond January 17, 1942 - September 06, 2018

September 11, 2018

Patricia “Pat” Ewell (Masten) Bond passed away on September 6, 2018 at the Landmark Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Pat was born January 17, 1942 in Macon County, MO. She attended Duncan’s Bridge Grade School and graduated from Clarence High School (MO) in 1960. She was united in marriage to Marlin Rexford Bond on October 10, 1964. Marlin preceded her in death on July 18, 1987.

Pat worked for Handi-Clean Products, in Greensboro, NC from 1964 until 1989, and lived in Greensboro, NC. Over the years, Marlin and Pat traveled up and down the East Coast with their jobs, visiting Florida in the winter and New York in the summer. She went to Disney World and Niagara Falls several times, and she could often serve as a tour guide due to her frequent visits. They owned several motor homes, and so it was nothing to see the motor home parked outside a grocery store or mall. After Marlin died, Pat moved to Columbia, MO in 1989, then to Kirksville in 2002, then to Boonville in 2004, and then back to Columbia in 2010. She later moved to Macon in 2014.

Pat liked to travel and had the opportunity to go to the Bahamas, Israel, Alaska, California, Colorado, Chicago, and Hawaii. Pat liked to claim that she had Road Maps in her veins instead of blood. In her later years, she and her traveling buddies would plan trips, and with each trip brought many good times and memories. Pat’s first and foremost priority was her work for the church. Whatever she could do for the Lord came first.

Although she had no children, she adopted seven Dachshunds dogs throughout the years. Whenever you would visit her, you had to greet her dogs and walk around all their toys. Pat treated her Dachshunds as if they were her children. She spoiled them with treats, toys, soft beds, and a doggie door. She also had lots of Dachshund memorabilia.

She is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Arthur Masten and wife Ruth of Macon, MO, Valerie Anders and husband Randy of Princeville, IL, VeraWillis and husband Dan of Kirksville, MO, and Bruce Masten and wife Melinda of Callao, MO; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Marlin R. Bond, and her parents, Jesse C. and Vera E. (Phillips) Masten.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, Missouri. A visitation will precede the service starting at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Union Cemetery, south of Clarence, Missouri. Memorials may be made to Show Me Christian Youth Home (24302 Mahin Road, LaMonte, MO 65337), Second Chance (PO Box 10186, Columbia, MO 65205) or the Bevier 1st Baptist Church.
