Larry Duane Bradley, age 86 of Marceline, Missouri passed away peacefully on July 4, 2018 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center. Larry was born in Kirksville, Missouri on December 9, 1931 to Joshua Clifford Bradley and Harriett Lucille (Thomas) Bradley. He was the grandson of Jose H. and Ethel Bell (Robinson) Bradley and Elmer and Eva Cecelia (Swenson) Thomas of New Cambria, Ethel and Goldsberry, Missouri. He married Alice Joyce Waugh in St. Joseph, Missouri on October 8, 1954 and she preceded him in death in 2006.

Larry graduated from Central High School, St. Joseph, in 1950, where he excelled in football and basketball. He attended the University of Missouri before enlisting in the US Army during the Korean War where he served in the 7th Armored Division, 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper from 1951 to 1953. He returned to MU after the Army, later becoming a golf professional, as both a club and teaching pro at various golf courses in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Larry owned Bradley Army Navy Store in Dallas, Texas for approximately 20 years before returning to Marceline in 2002.

Larry was an avid sports participant and enthusiast his entire life, enjoying golf, football, baseball and basketball. While living in Dallas, Larry owned and raced quarter horses for many years. He was especially accomplished in golf, teaching his children to play when they were very young, and continued to play with his father Cliff at Marceline Golf Club until they were both no longer able.

He is survived by his daughter, JoCile and husband Russell Bayh of Carrollton, Texas, sons Jay Clifford Bradley of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and Jon H. and wife Tammy Bradley of Peyton, Colorado, three granddaughters, Amanda Bayh McKitrick, Colbi Jaye Bradley and Loren Diane Bradley, two grandsons, Jason and Brandon Sills, and one great grandson Russell Cole McKitrick. He is also survived by his aunt Genevieve Bradley Johnson of Seattle, Washington, aunt Jane Thomas Bowden of Belton, Missouri, and brother-in-law Bill Marlin of St. Joseph and numerous cousins.

The family would like to thank the health professionals at Pioneer Skilled Nursing, Serve Link Home Care in Brookfield and the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with visitation starting at 10 AM. Burial will be in the New Cambria Cemetery.
