Emil Richard Pagliai, Jr., 89, of Bevier, MO, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.

Emil was born on January 31, 1929, in Bevier, MO, the son of Emil Richard and Josephine (Santi) Pagliai. He served in the United States Army as a combat engineer in Korea with 501st Engineer Company, 8th Army Division. Emil was united in marriage to Rosemary Louise Lolli on December 5, 1953, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Macon, MO. He was a barber and a rural mail carrier in the Bevier area for many years.

Emil is survived by five children, June Walker and her husband Kemper of Atlanta, MO, Daniel Pagliai of Kirksville, MO, Laura Edwards and her husband Bobby of Bevier, Anita Pagliai of Bevier, and Timothy Pagliai of Bevier, eight grandchildren, Zachary Walker (Becca), Anjanette Walker (Ryan), Zane Walker (Marissa), Brian Pagliai, Kristen Pagliai, Lee Edwards, Reid Edwards, and Ceianna Edwards, two great grandchildren, Kemper William Walker and Hudson Silvo Walker, one sister-in-law, Louise Pagliai, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosemary on September 21, 1994, one sister, Wanda Rawls, one brother, Roland Pagliai, and one daughter-in-law, Teresa Pagliai, and one nephew Alan Rawls.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bevier. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the St. Charles Cemetery in Bevier. Visitation will be from 10-11 am, Saturday morning at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Conception School or the St. Charles Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO.
