Arla Wayne Harrell, 91, of Macon, MO, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.

Arla was born on March 19, 1927, in Dallas County, MO, the son of Forest Ray and Essie V (Berry) Harrell. He served in the United States Army during WWII in Germany. Arla was united in marriage to Betty Jane Pettibone on October 3, 1952, at the Whitehouse Methodist Church in the St. Louis area. He was a mechanic and a truckdriver for many years. Arla was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bevier and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, traveling, being outdoors, and especially spending time with his family.

Arla is survived by four children, Betty Luise Agan, Arla Ray Harrell, Beverly Jane Howe, and Patricia Nadine Ayers, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, two sisters, Elsie Blanche Applegate and Inez Gertrude Ray, one brother, Forest Harrell, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, on May 20, 2018, one son, Donald Wayne Harrell, and one sister, Fern Baur.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, June 8, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Bevier with Rev. Scott Dalrymple officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am, Friday morning, at the church in Bevier. Memorials are suggested to the Bevier First Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon.
