Robert James Hanlon June 19, 1932 - May 28, 2018

Robert James Hanlon, age 85, of Belle, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 in Shelbina, Missouri. He was born June 19, 1932, the son of Edward J. and Mary Alice (Hummler) Hanlon. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Louise Hild in St. Louis, Missouri. She precedes him in death.

Robert is survived by three children, Sandra Hanlon of St. Louis, Missouri, Michael Hanlon and wife Kim of Shelbina, Missouri, and Marilyn Merkle of St. Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two brothers, Edward Hanlon of St. Louis, Missouri and Larry Hanlon of Kansas City, Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Donald Hanlon.

Robert was a member of the Machinist Local 9 Union for 51 years. He served our country in the United States Army. He was a jazz enthusiast, and enjoyed playing the saxophone. He also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Robert loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Jefferson Barracks Veteran’s Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice.
