Doris Ann Hayes - May 22, 2018

Doris Ann Hayes, 81, of Higbee, died May 22, 2018, at her home. She had been in failing health. Doris Ann was born July 7, 1936, in Howard County, MO, to James Washington and Myrtle Helen (Oneal) Holtzclaw.

She sold real estate for Halterman and Associates, had been a copywriter for KWIX/KRES, and her last job was working with the Randolph County Assessor’s office.

Doris Ann married Roy Eldon Hayes on November 25, 1953 in Higbee and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers and sister’s -in-law, Bob and Bonnie Holtzclaw and Wally and Lou Holtzclaw.

Survivors include a son, Roy Edward Hayes and wife Mary; daughter Laurie Ann Tuggle and husband George all of Higbee; three grandchildren, Marc Hayes, Chad Tuggle and wife Sara, and Mindy Tuggle; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She enjoyed camping and fishing.

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at the visitation which will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Services honoring and celebrating Doris’ life will follow at 1:00 p.m. Committal prayers and burial will be in Higbee City Cemetery.
