Zayne Kordell Lorton, age 16 of Brookfield, passed from this life on Friday, May 11, 2018 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. Zayne was born in Chillicothe, MO on January 21, 2002 to Jeffery William Lorton and Tosha Cathlene (Hannink) Lorton. Zayne was baptized at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Zayne was a member of Brookfield High School class of 2020. He was a member of FBLA, Bark Yearbook Staff, Sources of Strength, the Brookfield Bulldogs Football and Bulldogs Wrestling Teams, as well as the Laclede Baseball Team. He loved music, playing guitar, video games, drawing, spending time with family and friends, and participating in sports. He was employed by Papa Dave as the home groundskeeper and personal assistant.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff Lorton, Marceline; Tosha Lorton, Brookfield and friend Stephen Shoush, Macon; one brother, Dakotah Lorton and friend Morgan Kornburst, one sister, Bronwhyn Lorton, Brookfield; one half brother, Zekiah Lorton, Marceline; his grandparents, David Hannink, Brookfield; Teresa Lark and husband Davon, Brookfield; Andrea Lorton, Brookfield; three uncles, Josh Hannink and wife Erin, Oklahoma; James Hannink and wife Emily, Marshall, MO; George Lorton Jr., Brookfield; three aunts, Tonya Washam and husband Nathan, Laclede; Wendie Frank and husband Kevin, Washington; Beckie Gephart, Arizona; one great-grandmother, Phyllis Capps, Laclede; and several great uncles, aunts and cousins.

Zayne was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Lorton Sr.; great-grandparents Bob and Naomi Carriker, Bud McCune, Bobby Capps, John Nelson, Vernadine Auwarter, Terrance and Mary Lorton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Sullenger and Rev. Teresa Lark (Grammy) officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 17, 2018, family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
