Robert “Bob” Leon Richardson, 61, of Macon, MO, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at his home after battling cancer for over five years.

Bob was born on August 21, 1956, in Macon, MO, the son of Leon and Elizabeth (Hogan) Richardson. He was united in marriage to Tammy Stuck on October 8, 1977 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Macon.

Bob was lifetime Macon resident. He graduated from Macon R-1 High School in 1974. Bob enjoyed farming from a young age and continued to enjoy spending time on the farm throughout his life. Bob held many jobs over the course of his life. He worked for Peabody Mine/AECI, the Missouri Department of Conservation, Sydensticker’s, MFA, and most recently Norfolk Southern Railroad. He also owned his own business Richardson Ironworks. Welding and fixing things was a lifelong passion for Bob, he could often be found in his shop working on his newest project.

He enjoyed spending time at the coffee shop, hunting, fishing, and watching westerns. He was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He also took pride in sharing his journey with cancer with others who were in the same situation and participated in several interviews for Missouri Cancer Associates. He never lost his positive attitude and was always doing whatever he could to help others with their journey.

His greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He never missed an opportunity to attend his children’s ball games, track meets, and band concerts. He was also very proud of his three grandsons and would spend hours giving them endless tractor and gator rides.

Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tammy Richardson; daughter, Lynette Amos and husband RJ; son Tim Richardson and wife Kayla; grandsons, Bode Amos, Sam Amos, and Cannon Richardson. He is also survived by three sisters, Shirly Sims and husband Gary, Kathy Caplinger and husband Kent, Mary Sterling and husband Rick; brother Jim Richardson and wife Rachel; brother in law, Brad Stuck and wife Stacey, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Elizabeth Richardson, in laws Bob and Kathy Stuck, brother-in-law Brian Stuck and great nephew Austin Baker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 11 am, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Macon. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Macon. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Macon with a prayer service starting at 4:30 pm. Family suggest memorials to the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund or the Immaculate Conception School.
