Alvin Loren Payne, age 79, of Brookfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital, Columbia, MO

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Fairview Cemetery, Preston- Hickory County, MO, with Reverend Jim Rogers and Kyle Waldrep officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield. Alvin Loren, son of Jess John Payne and Edna Mae (Day) Payne, was born March 15, 1939 in Preston, MO. On February 6, 1965 he was united in marriage to Donna Jeanne Alexander in KCMO. Alvin served his country in the Army from 1961-1967. He was an avid reader and TV watcher; he especially enjoyed western themes. He enjoyed gardening and playing cards. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Payne, of the home; one daughter, Tasha Rogers and husband Jim, Brookfield; three grandchildren, Khrissy Seaman and husband Taylor, Brookfield; Shawn Armstrong and wife Samantha, Linneus; and Melanie Armstrong and significant other, Tim, Springfield; five great-grandchildren, Lily, Ella, Zoey, Brantley, and Easton; two brothers, Jess Payne and wife Donna, Tarkio; and Bobby Payne and wife Patty, Buffalo; and one sister Virginia Pearson, Weaubleau, MO;
