Melvin Francis Hurst, Jr., 87, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2018 in Houston, TX. He was born on June 2, 1930 in Macon, MO to the late Melvin and Ellou Miller Hurst.

Melvin leaves behind a wife, Charlotte Ann Hurst; children, Susan Hurst Edge and Jeffery Paul Hurst; grandchildren, Brian Michael Edge and wife Becca, Emily Ann Fenlon and husband Mark, Shawn Michael Hurst, Matthew Dustin Hurst, Kelly Wade Hurst and wife Jenna; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Charlotte, Molly, Jasmine, Dylan, Nathan, Justin, Austin and Kaitlyn.

Mel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and pool player. He also loved gardening and volunteering for the church. We will always carry his memory in our hearts

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 8601 Chimney Rock Rd, Houston TX 77096 with Senior Minister, Josh Duffy Officiating.
