Marilyn (Sloneker) Buckman AUGUST 16, 1936 ~ APRIL 29, 2018 (AGE 81

Marilyn Buckman, age 81, of Linneus, died Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Life Care Center in Brookfield.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Linneus with Pastor Sue Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Linneus. Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2018, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Marilyn Sue, daughter of Ralph and Blanche (Kennedy) Sloneker, was born August 16, 1936, in Laclede. On September 4, 1960, she married Robert W. Buckman who preceded her in death on February 11, 2014.

Marilyn was a homemaker and had also worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Brookfield. She was a talented musician and taught piano lessons for many years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Linneus where she was the Organist and was active in the Evening Circle. She was also a member of Laurel Club, Bruner Club and Linn Circle Club all of Linneus.

Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Rose and husband, David of O’Fallon and Carolyn Buckman of Broomfield, Colorado; and one grandson, David Rose, II of BrynMawr, Pennsylvania.

Her parents; one sister, Joan Gieck; and an infant brother, Lyle Sloneker also preceded her in death.
