Baxter Haley April 23, 1944 - March 23, 2018
Baxter Haley, age 73 passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, March 23, 2018 at his home in Mercyville, MO north of Elmer, MO.
He was born April 23, 1944 in San Diego, CA a son of Beverly Baxter and Bonnie Marie (Bailey) Haley. On January 27, 1968 he was united in marriage with Nancy Jane Pippin. They had recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Baxter graduated from Elmer High School in 1962 and then proudly served in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam from 1962 to 1965. He was employed as the Safety Manager for Key Energy in Casper, Wyoming until his retirement.
Baxter is survived by his wife, Nancy of the home; 2 daughters: Kim Rodriquez (Paul) of Clarence and Tessa Parke (Jeff) of Casper, Wyoming. He was very proud of his 3 grandsons: Jake Rodriquez (Cassie) of Kirksville; Jackson and Connor Parke of Casper, WY and great-grandson, Laramie
Rodriquez of Kirksville; 3 sisters: Carol Haley, Anne Koger (Harry) and Babs Davis; 1 brother, Kerry Haley of LaPlata; brothers-in-law: Robert Pippin (Kay), Victor Pippin (Diana); sister-in-law: Cindy Gwinner and father-in-law: Virgil "Squeak" Pippin; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Baxter was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Colleen Pippin; an infant brother; brother-in-law, Jeff Gwinner; grandparents: Naomi and Ernest Bailey (whom he considered Dad); grandparents-in-law: Virgil "Bill" and Katherine Rhoades and an infant niece, Stephanie Haley.
It was Baxter's wish to be cremated and have no public services or visitation. Inurnment and full military honors will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, MO at a later date. The family will notify friends of the date of inurnment and military honors.
