Rachel Schmadeke, age 40, of Shelbyville, MO, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia, MO.

She was born April 2, 1975, in Macon, MO, the daughter of James L. and Bonnie J. Copenhaver Schmadeke.

Rachel is survived by her parents of Shelbyville, MO; two daughters, Kelsey Anne Saunders of Heartland, MO and Josephine Rose Haslag of Raymore, MO; one granddaughter, Addy Kaye Piasecki of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Jennifer Anne ONeill and husband Kevin and three nieces, Ellen, Delaney and Bridget ONeill.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Leota Schmadeke and Alvin and Bonnie Copenhaver.

Rachel was a graduate of Kearney High School and Metro Business College of Jefferson City, MO. She was employed as a legal assistant in a law office. She was a Lutheran by faith. Rachel loved sports, reading, music and watching movies. She loved her family, especially her children.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Lutheran Cemetery near Shelbyville, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the Funeral Home in Shelbina. Memorials may be made to the Donors Choice.
