Martha Sue Hammontree (October 19, 1935 - May 22, 2017)

Martha Sue Hammontree, 81, of Macon, MO, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Macon Healthcare Center in Macon.

 
Martha was born on October 19, 1935, in Clarence, MO, the daughter of Clarence and Doris (Brewington) Howell.  Martha enjoyed traveling, dancing, gardening, yard work, cooking, housework, crocheting, and spending time with family.

 
Martha is survived by three children, Wayne Hammontree and his wife Vicky of Macon, MO, Gary Hammontree and his wife Rita of Macon, MO, and Debbie Whitley of Bevier, MO; five grandchildren, Wayne Hammontree, Jr., Devon Hammontree, Shannon Bergfield, Lindsay Whitley, and Sierra Whitley; eleven great-grandchildren; and cousin, Elmer “Junior” Howell and Shirley.

 
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild, Garrett Hammontree, and son-in-law, Jim Whitley.

 
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, May 26, 2017, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Bro. Jim Bolin officiating.  Burial will be in the Graves Chapel Cemetery south of Anabel, MO.  Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Thursday evening, at the funeral home.  The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
