John Thomas Fitzpatrick (December 8, 1966 - May 20, 2017)

John Thomas Fitzpatrick, 50, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

John was born December 8, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John Joseph and LoVeta Mae (Gillespie) Fitzpatrick.

John is survived by his mother LoVeta Fitzpatrick of Kirksville, MO; one son, Brody Thomas Fitzpatrick of Kirksville, MO; three brothers, Jack Fitzpatrick and Terrance Fitzpatrick both of Philadelphia, PA, and Gary Fields of Colorado Springs, CO; four sisters, Debbie Moore of Kirksville, MO, Sharon R. Combs of Greentop, MO, Sandra Bass of Kirksville, MO, and Janice New of New Port, VA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Fitzpatrick on May 10, 1996.

John resided most of his life in Kirksville, and was a graduate from Kirksville High School. He was employed as a truck driver a number of years for Estes Truck Lines and Waller Trucking Lines. He loved music and played with several bands from Kansas City and across Northeast Missouri. He was well known for his drumming ability. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, following Cardinal baseball and Kansas City Chiefs Football. He always had stories to tell and loved spending time with his friends and family.

John will be remembered for never meeting a stranger, for his sense of humor and for always having a great smile.

John was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Kyle Caraway presiding. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 for one hour before the service.

John will be cremated following his service and burial will take place at a later date at Downing Cemetery in Downing, Missouri.
