Charles Murray Dorrel Jr

Charles Murray Dorrel Jr, born February 18, 1925 in Macon Missouri,  died February 2, 2017 at the age of 91 in Newberry Florida.  He retired as Purchasing Agent for Missouri Farmers Association Oil Company in Columbia, Missouri in 1987 and retired to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1989, then moved to Newberry, Florida in 2010.  He served in World War II in the 124/208th Field Artillery Unit and was a part of the European invasion at Omaha Beach on D-Day +2 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.  He was, at one time, the youngest Exalted Ruler of the Elks in Missouri.

He is survived by his son, Charles M. Dorrel III, daughter-in-law Cindy Lee Dorrel and grandson Ethan Charles David Dorrel and many friends, nephews and nieces.  Per his request, his ashes will be placed next to his wife Bette in Port Charlotte, Florida.
