Harold Spencer, age 92, of New Cambria, died Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Lockhaven Nursing Home in Macon.

A memorial service will be Friday, October 14, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at the United Church of New Cambria in New Cambria. Burial will take place following the service at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Services are under the direction of Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Harold Dean, son of Earl and Maud (Cline) Spencer, was born July 25, 1924, in Brookfield. On July 21, 1944, he married June Rose.

Harold had been a caller for the Burlington Northern Railroad many years ago before he began his life long work farming. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post in Callao, and a member of the National Farmer’s Organization.

Survivors include his wife, June Spencer of the home; one son, Roger and wife, Janey (Vanwye) Spencer of New Cambria; two daughters, Sally Muncy and husband, Gary of Columbia and Susan White and husband, Keith of Macon; six grandchildren, James Borders and wife, Mari, Cliff Muncy, Cara Gallup and husband, Travis, Jeremy Carr, Jonathan Cook and wife, Kristi, and Heather Murphy and husband, Paul; and four great-grandchildren, James Borders, David Borders, Masen Gallup, and Levi Murphy.

His parents; two brothers, Nolan Spencer and Watson Spencer; and a sister, Anna Mae Spencer preceded him in death.
