Edward “Fred” Greene, Jr., 77, of Excello, MO, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016, at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Fred was born on February 3, 1939, in Jackson, MO, the son of Edward Sr. and Mary Helen (Biri) Greene. Fred was united in marriage to Pearl Rutter on October 24, 1959 in St. Louis. He attended the Mt. Salem Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Fred enjoyed reading, being outdoors, and especially being with his grandchildren.

Fred is survived by his wife,Pearl; three children, Thomas Greene and his wife Terri of Holts Summit, MO, Dawn Uhlenbrock of St. Charles, MO, and Kenneth Greene of Florissant, MO; six grandchildren, Matthew Yordt, Brandon Uhlenbrock, Jesse Greene, Brian Uhlenbrock, Cody Greene, and Meghan Greene; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Shawn; siblings, Mary Walter, Charles Greene, Francis Greene, and Rita Ragland; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Elizabeth Wuesthoff.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial, will be in Mt. Salem Cemetery in Excello. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from noon until the time of service at funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Mt. Salem Cemetery.
