John Henry "Jack " Dietzel, age 94, of Brookfield, Missouri, died Wednesday, September 07, 2016 at McLarney Manor of Brookfield

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Rhodes Funeral Home with Reverend Ron McPherson officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Brookfield. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, September 12, 2016 at Rhodes Funeral Home. John Henry was born on July 15, 1922 in Jamestown, Missouri, the first son of Lawrence A. Dietzel and Claire (Barger) Dietzel. He was united in marriage to Gladys Nadine Hunt on June 9, 1947 in Troy Kansas. They were married for Sixty-three years until Glady's passing in 2010. John served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II, spending several tours of duty overseas. He worked for Thirty-two years as a welder for John Deere Harvester in East Moline, Illinois until his retirement when he and Gladys moved back home to Brookfield. John was a member of the American Legion and the Mid-West Drag Tractor Association. During his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and working on drag strip lawn mowers.

John is survived by one brother, Lawrence Dietzel and wife Judy, Jefferson City; one daughter, Pamela Danner and husband John, of Moline, Ill; granddaughter, Johnna Terlouw, husband Tim, and great-grandson Leon, Pella, IA; niece, Reita Brumbaugh, whom they helped to raise, Grammy and Grampy's special girl, Cassady Sisson; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gladys and one sister, Marie Dietzel.
