Marjorie F. King

Marjorie F. King, age 95 of Bucklin, died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline. Marjorie was born on July 10, 1921 to William and Mae (Holt) Olinger. She married Russell King on December 1, 1938 in Linneus and he preceded her in death in 2001.

Marjorie was the bookkeeper for the service stations she and Russell owned and also cooked for the lunch rooms in those. She had worked at Tri State Printers, Walsworth, Brown Shoe Co, and sold Avon and Mary Kay for several years. At the age of 40 she attended cosmetology school in Moberly and worked as a hairdresser until her retirement. She was a past Secretary and Treasurer for the Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Civic Improvement, member of the Bucklin Christian Church where she served as Secretary, Treasurer and President of Sunday School class, Secretary Treasurer of C.W.F., Sunday School teacher for thirty years, quilting club of the church, and Secretary Treasurer of the church. She was the Homecoming Parade Marshall in 2006. She loved doing anything for God, church and community.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Bandy and friend Richard Dell, Marceline, two granddaughters, Pam Duncan, Brookfield, Linda Scott and Kevin, Brookfield, four great grandchildren, Serenity Miller and Bryan, Shelby, MO; Stephen Duncan, Brookfield, Tamera Scott and fiancé Shane Middleton, Bucklin, and Kevin John, Russell Scott Jr., Brookfield, and four great-great grandchildren, Tristen and Lainey Miller, Shelby, Vann Duncan, Brookfield, and Johnlynn Scott, Brookfield, and sister Lola Dealy, Brookfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, son-in-law John Bandy, sisters, Lennah Slaughter, Inez Main, Orpha Wilson, Chelcea Serfass, Letha Flickinger and infants Ida and Evelyn Olinger, and brothers, Willie, Jess, Harold, Leland, Orville, and infant Paul Olinger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Bucklin Christian Church with burial in Masonic Cemetery, Bucklin. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Wednesday, August 24 at Delaney Funeral Home in Bucklin. Memorials may be made to the Bucklin Christian Church and sent to 41 Locust Bucklin, MO 64631.
