Sharon Lou Martin Skinner of Bevier, MO, was born June 14, 1939 to George (Babe) & Dorothy Phipps Martin south of Callao at her Grandmother Tensie Britt Phipps farm. According to the chicken scales Dr. Raines used, she weighed 7 lbs. She died August 22, 2016 at 4:50 p.m. with her daughter as her side. In 1957 she was united in marriage to William Dean (Bill) Skinner near Fort Campbell, KY, where Bill was stationed in the US Army. Bill went to Heaven August 31, 2004. Bill was a long time employee of Orschlen Bros Truck Lines. During this union, Karen Renee and Timothy (Tim) Dean were born and she loved them dearly.

Sharon began going to the Burris School south of Bevier at the age of 4. In 1953 her family left the country life to move into Callao. Sharon graduated in 1956 at the age of 16 and promptly left home to move to Kansas City and began working at a bank on the Plaza. After she married and had children, she was a full time homemaker until 1971 when she began working at the Moberly Commerce Bank as a teller. When her family moved to Kirksville in 1973, she transferred to the Kirksville Commerce Bank and shortly thereafter was the head book keeper. This was a time of great happiness with her coworkers and some great memories were made. 1988 Sharon began working at Pickell Abstract and became fast friends with Janet Hunt. Sharon worked there until she retired in 2010 at the age of 70. In her spare time there was always books within her reach as she was an avid reader. She also loved nature and could identify many birds. She enjoyed knitting and quilting. Sharon was a gifted cook which was passed down from her mother and then on to her daughter. Her love of nature was given to her son.

Sharon was proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Karen Renee Skinner of Macon, MO and Timothy Dean (Tim) Skinner of Edina, MO. Siblings, Sonya Martin George, John Martin, Jeanie Martin Houpt and Kevin Martin. Her sister in laws Phyllis Martin and Auria Martin, brother in law, Ralph Livingston and daughter in law Becky Reed. Many nieces and nephews but most importantly her grandchildren, Caleb Dean Skinner, Katlyn Renee Elam, Samuel Adrian Skinner. She was blessed with three great grandsons and one great granddaughter.

A remembrance gathering will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Maples Repertory Theatre event center at 1 p.m. This will be a time of sharing stories and remembering all the love we have for Sharon.
