Ruth Tomich age 96 of Kirksville, MO passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at the Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Marion and L. Emma (Swisher) Jones, Ruth was born on February 24, 1920 in Novinger, MO. On September 1, 1947 in Kirksville, MO she was united in marriage to Edward T. (Shange) Tomich who preceded her in death on January 22, 1974.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Larry Tomich, and five brothers, Vernie Jones, Ellis Jones, Vandle Jones, Dee Jones and Rayburn Jones.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn Bohon and husband, Chris of Kirksville, MO and Connie Becker of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Ryan Bohon and wife, Laura of St. Louis and Brett Bohon of St. Louis, MO; three great-grandchildren, Sam, Katie and Teddy Bohon and two sisters-in-law, Trevia Jones of Kirksville, MO and Martha Jones of Phoenix, AZ.

Ruth was reared in Novinger, MO where she attended school. After her marriage she moved to Kirksville, MO. She was employed at the S&H Green Stamp Redemption Center until she retired. After retirement she was employed at the Shockey Convenience Store. Ruth was a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, the Young At Heart, Life After 50 and Women of the V.F.W. She loved to cook, especially pies and cooking lunches during haying season. She also liked to play cards, quilt, sew, knitting and crocheting. Ruth dearly loved her family and grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel with Virgil Jones officiating. Musical selections will be “How Great Thou Art” and “The Lord’s Prayer”. Burial will be in the Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville, MO.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, August 20, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the
