Shirley Pillers Dennis, 72, of Kirksville, MO, formerly of Macon, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Shirley was born on November 23, 1942, in Callao, MO, the daughter of William and Violet (Smith) Pillers. She supported the Right to Life, enjoyed training dogs, cared greatly for animals and was a faithful Christian.

Shirley is survived by one son Michael Johnson of Denton, AR, five granddaughters, Renee, Jessica, Marcia, Pamela and Lindsey, eleven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Pillers and wife Brenda of Elsberry, MO, Gary Pillers and wife Bette of Macon, MO, one nephew, Nate Pillers and wife Tegan of Macon, MO, one niece Angelena Pillers Reed of Elsberry, MO, great-niece and great-nephew Ava and Boden Pillers. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother David Kitts, and sister-in-law Jeanne Pillers.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Rev. Richard Pillers officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery east of Atlanta. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am, Saturday morning, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Elsberry Assembly of God.
