COVID-19 weekly update Over the week of April 21-27, 2021

Macon County residents continue to be vaccinated. All adults ages 16 and up are eligible to receive the vaccine and vaccines are free to all Missouri residents, regardless of insurance. To date per DHSS dashboard, 7,033 vaccines have been given to residents: 3,877 initial doses and 3,272 completed 2-dose series. Currently, 25.6% of the population have had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 21.6% of the population has completed their 2-dose series. Macon County Health Department and Samaritan Hospital continue to partner to provide vaccination clinics to help vaccinate the residents of Macon County.

Over the week of April 21-27, 2021, there were four new cases of COVID-19 in Macon County. The Macon County Health Department continues to encourage mitigation techniques to prevent the community transmission of COVID-19 through social distancing and wearing mask.
