L. Doreen (Peck-Sheperd) Christman

L. Doreen (Peck-Sheperd) Christman, 92, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away March 12, 2015 at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville.

She was born January 30, 1923 in Louisa County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ethel (Watkins) Peck. Doreen was a graduate of Mediapolis High School in May of 1940. She married Floyd O. Sheperd on July 29, 1940, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1980. On August 15, 1997, Doreen married Harold Christman and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2014.

Besides her husbands, Doreen was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Oleta, Sadie, VaVera, and Juanita; three brothers, Walter, Donald and Ivan, as well as her daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Sheperd.

Doreen is survived by two sons, Floyd L. Sheperd and wife Sandy of Wheatridge, CO, and Loyal K. Sheperd of Carl Junction, MO; three granddaughters, Judy Perrine and husband Paul, Lynette Sheperd, and Marsha Sheperd; one step-grandson, Scott Thomas, as well as twelve great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

Doreen was an active life-long member of the Church of God Holiness of Kirksville.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday (April 17, 2015 in Deerfield, Missouri, at the Church of God Holiness. She will be interred at Fort Scott National Cemetery, beside her first husband Floyd O. Sheperd following the service at 12:30 p.m. on Friday (April 17, 2015).
