District 1 Attends ALA Department Convention

Members of District 1 of the American Legion Auxiliary attended the 99th annual American Legion Auxiliary Convention held July 11th thru 14th, 2019 at the Marriott Airport Hotel in St. Louis, MO.
It was an informative and fun convention. Several of the attendees attended the Family Banquet on Friday evening to honor the State Auxiliary President Sharon Slagle and State Commander Kerry Boardman for their past year of service to our Veterans. Also recognized were Lloyd Miller, District 1 Vice Commander & Commander of Paris Post # 221; John Buckwalter, District 1 Adjutant & Dept. Finance Officer of Kirksville Post #20, and Linda Maddox, District 1 Auxiliary President, of New Cambria, Callao Unit #360. Theodore Roosevelt IV was the entertaining guest speaker for the evening. Several also attended the Auxiliary “Quarter Auction” fundraiser held Saturday evening.
