Wanda Carol Ensor July 06, 2019

July 12, 2019

Wanda Brandon Ensor, 83, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 6th. Wanda was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loyal friend. She will be remembered as an accomplished pianist, gardener, cook, seamstress and artist. Wanda appreciated beauty and learned to make all sorts of things, such as award-winning flower arrangements, candles, paintings and various types of handwork, like Hardanger, candlewicking, counted cross-stitch, knitting and crochet. It might surprise most that she delighted in quietly executing clever pranks.

Wanda grew up in Illinois and proudly became a registered nurse at Blessing Training School for Nurses in Quincy, Illinois. Her good friend, Esther, introduced her brother Paul to Wanda, and they were married in 1958. She used her nursing skills to care for many family members and friends.

Wanda and Paul farmed near Holliday, serving at First Baptist Church in Paris and being involved in the community. They enjoyed traveling together and were especially delighted with Hawaii, Switzerland and Alaska.

Wanda leaves behind her husband, Paul, her children: Carol (Steve) Burken, Steve (Brenda), Mark (Sandy), and Mitch (Regina), as well as 15 grandchildren: Cyndi, Dan, Nathan, Jay, Kara, Brandon, Kristen, Laura, Caila, Carrie, Ellen, Shea, Jonathan, Leah and Michael, and 12 great-grandchildren. We were all so blessed by how gracefully Wanda lived her life, even to the end.

Her father, mother, brothers, and infant sister preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 2019, from 5pm to 7pm at the 1st Baptist Church in Paris, Missouri. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 10:00 am at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri. Burial will be held at the Shelbina Cemetery in Shelbina, Missouri following the service. Memorials may be made, in Wanda’s honor, to First Baptist Church in Paris or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
