Cheryl Lynn McKenzie September 13, 1954 - May 17, 2019

Cheryl Lynn McKenzie, 64, of the Dominican Republic, formerly of the Newark, Missouri community, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Cheryl was born on September 13, 1954, in Bloomington, Illinois, the daughter of Noble William “Bill” and Ruth Edmundson Mann.

On May 10, 1974, in Novelty, Missouri, Cheryl married Roger McKenzie and to this union three children were born.

She received her nursing degree with the Northeast Missouri State University Nursing School in Kirksville, Missouri. Cheryl worked at the Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri and also hospitals in California, Texas and Hannibal, Missouri before retiring in the Dominican Republic.

She is survived by her parents, Bill and Ruth Mann of Newark, Missouri; three children, Melanie and Arthur Matthews of St. Louis, Missouri, Kelly Mallory of Quincy, Illinois and Samuel McKenzie of Newark, Missouri; a brother, Gary Mann of Wyoming; a sister Lori and Joe Mann-Garza of The Woodlands Texas; a Sister Barbara and Ed Tusa of Richmond Texas; six grandchildren, Adara and Adrian Matthews, Alex, Abigail and Andrew Santi and Annalynn McKenzie; a great grandchild, Avery Hunter; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Doss Funeral Home assisted with her wishes to be cremated and her family will hold a private memorial service at a later date
