Scott Anthony Klasner, 38, of Dutzow, Missouri, passed away on May 17, 2019, at his home after a long battle with ALS.

Scott was born on December 29, 1980, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Bill and Jean (Bielong) Klasner. He was a 1999 graduate of De Smet Jesuit High School in St. Louis, MO. Scott received his B.S. in Chemistry from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, in 2003. He then went on to Kansas State University for his graduate studies and obtained a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in 2010. Scott was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sherry Ann (Trentmann) on May 31, 2014. After receiving his Ph.D., Scott worked as an Analytical Chemist for Halliburton in Houston, TX. Scott was a proud member of the Delta Omega Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau, and enjoyed playing golf, collecting and shooting firearms, a good glass of scotch, and especially spending time with family and friends. Scott will be remembered for his quick wit, easy going personality, and his loyalty to the people he loved and cared for.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Klasner; parents Bill and Jean Klasner, of Florissant, Missouri, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Keith and Mary Trentmann, of Dutzow, Missouri, two sisters in-law, Coleen Williams, and husband Steve, of St. Louis, Missouri, Rachel Nave’ and husband Jason of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; seven nieces and nephews, Danielle, Trent, and Travis Williams, Chase, Malayna, Kaylie, and Evan Nave’; and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, May 24, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 13497 S State Highway 94, Marthasville, Missouri 63357. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am prior to Mass at St. Vincent’s Church. A celebration of Scott’s life, will also be held Saturday May 25, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 pm, at John D. McGurks Irish Pub (1200 Russell Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63104). The family invites people attending the funeral to wear colorful attire, because they are celebrating the life that Scott lived. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Scott Klasner’s ALS Benefit Fund.
