Ronnie L Mason (Mar 13, 1929 - Mar 21, 2019)

Ronnie L. Mason, age 90 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Missouri.

Born March 13, 1929 in rural Atlanta, Missouri, the son of Otho Clark and Adah Stell (Kaster) Mason. On September 17, 1950 in Callao, Missouri he was united in marriage to Joann Bledsoe who preceded him in death on June 14, 2002.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Carol Lee Mason.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Sherry Mason of Lake Ozark, Missouri and David and Linda Mason of Macon, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Karen and Thomas Steele of Salem, Virginia; one sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Lavon Eitel of La Plata, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Sarah Steele-Killeen, Christine Steele, Lydia Roberts, John Steele, Deanna Edwards, Jennifer Mason, Tyler Mason, and Shelby Mason; and ten great grandchildren.

Ronnie was a 1947 graduate of La Plata High School and served in the United States Army as a radar technician from 1950 to 1953. He farmed most all of his life. Ronnie was a member of the La Plata Baptist Church since 1945 where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was also a member of the La Plata Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the La Plata Baptist Church. Inurnment with full military honors will be in the La Plata Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
