Larry Dean Custer MAY 17, 1953 ~ JANUARY 13, 2019 (AGE 65)

Larry Dean Custer, 65 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at his home.

Larry was born May 17, 1953 in Kirksville to John and Laverne (Jennings) Custer. On November 21, 1973 he married Glenda Creason and one son was born to this marriage. Survivors include: His son, Chris Custer of Kansas City, Kansas; long time companion, Debbie Gray of Milan; a brother, Wayne and wife Bessie Custer of Milan; a niece, Penny Kent and husband Scott; great nieces and nephews, Licie Custer, Blake Custer, Ryan Kent, and Sean Kent; and extended family, his companion’s mother, Lois Gray of Milan and his companion’s son, Josh Shields and his children. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one nephew, Larry Custer.

Larry was a lifelong resident of the Milan area. He was a member and baptized at a young age at the First Baptist Church in Milan. Larry graduated from Milan High School in 1971 and went to work at Stampers in Milan, which later became Con Agra, working there until it closed. Larry then worked for the dog food plant, and at PSF as a truck washer. Larry liked woodworking, and also enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and chain saws, etc.
Funeral services for Larry will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM. Cremation will follow with a private inurnment at Oakwood Cemetery at a later time.
