Kenneth (Kenny) Morris, 71, of Milan, died Thursday, January 24, 2019, at 9:15 PM in a head-on collision 5 miles from home.

Kenny was born on January 3, 1948 in Kirksville, Missouri to John T. (Jack) and Kathryn Mendenhall-Morris. He married Paula McFarland at Sperry, Missouri and two children were born to this marriage; Rhonda Morris (Jones) and husband Tommy of Waverly, Missouri and Ronald Morris and wife Mandy of Milan. They divorced in 1979. On December 11, 2010, he married Corina Weigel and gained three step-children; Nathan Seavey of the St. Louis area, Crystal Seavey of Browning, Missouri and Hannah Seavey (Chapman) of Trenton, Missouri.

Kenny is survived by his wife Corina Morris, of the home, and a brother Terry Morris and wife Brenda of O’Fallon, Missouri. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren: Brett Jones, Kelsey Jones, Marcus Morris, Jerrico Morris, Danielle Morris, Madison Morris, Davidson Garrett, Gabrielle Chapman, Shane Chapman, Taz Seavey, Tazlene Seavey, Richlene Seavey, Joshua Seavey, Tyler Shields, Tarae Boston, Tiffany Boston (now Emily Reinsch), Alex Boston, Mikayla Williams, Janae Riddle and Garen Broyles. Two great-grandchildren: Aubrie Miller and Waylin Morris, father and mother in-law; Tom and Ruby Weigel of Iowa. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Morris.

Kenny was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. He was a graduate of Milan High School in 1967. He was in the United States Army from 1968-1974 and served in Vietnam where he was sprayed by Agent Orange and lived his life with the effects. He served as an ordained minister from 1973-1979 with the Assembly of God Church. He also worked at ConAgra and Banquet Foods. He was currently retired and a disabled Veteran.

Kenny was an active member of the American Legion Post 228, the Milan Assembly of God Church (now Cornerstone Church) in Milan. He was previously a member of the Milan Rebekah Lodge 435, and continued to help out at the Lodge.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM, Monday January 28, 2019 at Schoene Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan, Missouri. Pastor Jose Gonzalez, Rev. Alan Coonfield, and Wanda Magruder will officiate. Interment will follow the service with full Military Rites at the Owasco Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Kelby West, Coty West, Leroy Wyant, Bob Wyant, Pat Swan, Kenny Broyles, and Ray Scott. Family will receive friends Sunday evening, January 27, 2019, from 6 – 8 PM at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan.
