Wilma Rose Snyder, 82 years old, of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at Kirksville Manor Care in Kirksville, Missouri.

Wilma was born July 9, 1936 in New Boston, Missouri to Floyd and Ruby (Helms) Yochim. On May 31, 1952 she married Delbert Eugene Snyder and they set up residence in Green Castle where they would raise their family. Delbert preceded her in death on January 27, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond Dean Yochim, stepfather, Emmett Ervie, and grandson, Drew Snyder.

She is survived by her five children, Debbie Bolin of Independence, Missouri, Dennis and wife Roberta Snyder of Kirksville, Donna and husband Ben Walker of Monroe City, Missouri, Doug and wife Laura Snyder of Green Castle, and Dana and husband Greg Dobrinske of Green Castle; ten grandchildren, Michelle Jarvis (Zack), Derek Snyder, Meghan Morris (Andrew), Bradley Walker, Delaney Snyder, Sonja Snyder, Austin Dobrinske, April Dobrinske, Jason Bell, and Jared Bell; nine great grandchildren, Miranda Steele, Dylan Steele, Kiley Gudehus, Jenna Snyder, Jamie Morris, Marshall Dobrinske, Wyatt Bell, Lane Bell, and Keagen Bell; three step brothers, John Ervie, Gary Ervie and Charles Ervie, a sister in-law, Evah Moots of Green Castle, and many nieces and nephews.

Wilma was a member of the Green Castle United Methodist Church where she served on committees for many years including Bible school, Sunday school, Bible study and Singspirations. She served as an election judge for many years and was always involved in community projects including the Labor Day Celebrations, softball tournaments and chaired the concession stands. Wilma was a room mother for all of her children’s classes through the years. She attended most all of her children and grandchildren’s school activities.

After their daughter Debbie was born she started providing a daycare for most of the children in the community. Until she retired she always had a baby in her arms. She retired as a daycare provider just fifteen years ago.

Wilma enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, canning and working in her strawberry beds. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Burial will follow in the Green Castle Cemetery. A scheduled visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the funeral home.
